When we see a begger, with thirsty eyes, torn clothes and tottering about in the street, it is our humble intention to help him. But keep your emotions and kindness away for a while and think in those terms that should anything be given to anyone to whom it doesn't belong.
Now you might say, I am becomming inhuman.When we provide a begger with food or money, an enriching feeling surpasses us. But think for a while that instead of helping, you have paralysed him. Hold you, you have not done the "kind" deed, he should have done a hectic task to earn it. Now he will become a parasite, and live on the monopoly of others. Now, let me throw some light on the 'needy' beggers of present times. If you give him a rupee coin, he will glare at you, will start grinning and with show such an attitude as if you are his servent.
Let us compare a begger with a rickshaw puller. The latter toils and toils to earn a penny while the former gives a damn to the grueling job. Why the hell anyone needs to work, if he gets his living free of cost? So, actually, it is the society which has transformed men to beggers.

Now a days, they are free to go to any number of house, on the street, even in temples, compelling you to give them something. Our ministers and politicians say that India will be a developed country by 2020 A.D. If that difficult dream is to be made possible, this vampire of begging must be removed from its roots. Unless and until every citizen knows the meaning of self reliance and self dependence, India cannot become a develope country.
